Frida Kahlo - a renowned Mexican painter, painted in vivid colors to express her unique experiences of intense pain and hidden anguish in human life, especially the suffering of women. Throughout her 47 years of life, she depicted self-portraits the most during times of excruciating pain and profound emotional wounds.

Despite many considering her painted images surrealistic, Frida herself said, "I never painted dreams or nightmares. I painted my own reality."

Frida contracted polio at the age of six, and at eighteen, she was involved in a severe bus accident that caused her to endure severe physical pain for most of her life. To correct her body, she endured over thirty surgeries. She spent several years bedridden. After the accident, she learned that she could never bear children. Despite trying three times, each pregnancy ended in miscarriage, causing her profound sorrow and grief. These physically and mentally agonizing experiences became the subjects of her paintings.

Frida herself wrote, "My painting carries with it the message of pain." Her paintings provided her with completeness amidst a life filled with pain and sorrow. In the history of the world, Frida remains a symbol of anguish and sorrow for women.
